Chamonix - Le Verre Gourmand

The Mourchon wines are available in the French Alps distributed throughout the Chamonix and Tarantaise valley areas. Our client Le Verre Gourmand is headed by Sam Owens and Roch Braillon, both very experienced wine connoisseurs. They have been building their business over the last five years out of the back Sam’s garage and this winter have expanded their client base Alp-wide, supplying some of the better known ski holiday and Chalet operators.
Today facilitating a 300m2 warehouse located in Sallanches at the Chamonix valley entrance, they are pleased to have taken orders for over 80,000 bottles of French, Portuguese and Spanish wines. Their wine selection of which will suit most people’s palates.
Le Verre Gourmand winter season tastings in Chamonix and Morzine in November were very well attended and it was a pleasure for the Domaine’s Hugo Levingston to meet the Chalet owners and respective Chefs de cuisine to talk over food and wine matching….. “melted Roquefort over fresh figs with a glass of the Domaine’s Grande Reserve to hand”.
We wish Le Verre Gourmand une bonne continuation.

Guide Gilbert & Gaillard des Vins

The wine guide "Gilbert & Gaillard" has given us the following tasting notes in their 2009 edition:

Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret A.O.C. Tradition 2006
Robe soutenue, reflet violacé. Nez capiteux de pruneau à l’eau-de-vie, de cerise noire. La bouche mise clairement sur la concentration et la puissance, s’expriment sur des arômes de fruits noirs et de notes minérales personnalisées.

Note : 87/100

Note : 89/100

Centennial

During the month of November, we were invited to taste the Mourchon wines with a group of Centennial managers in Dallas Texas. Centennial are a chain of over sixty wine shops in the Dallas area and have available Domaine de Mourchon’s Grande Reserve and Tradition red wines together with the Loubie rose.

Whilst in Dallas, Centennial organized a tasting at their prestigious Preston Road wine shop for their private clientele and the tasting was attended by several extremely enthusiastic Rhône wine lovers.

Houston Wine Merchant

Marcy Jimenez of Houston Wine Merchant invited us to present the Mourchon wines at a tasting in their Westheimer venue and again, as in Dallas, we were pleased to receive many Mourchon enthusiasts adding to the considerable growth of interest in our wine in the State of Texas.

Radichio - Dublin Wine Importers

Last month Ronnie and Walter McKinlay were privileged to visit the Republic of Eira and our local customers Radichio. Tony Woods of Radichio gave the visitors an exciting tour of the City of Dublin introducing us to both Radichio’s wine shop and restaurant customers selling Domaine de Mourchon wine.

Ireland, over recent years, has seen a startling growth in wine consumption and we are pleased to say wines from the Southern Rhône have been very much part of this progression.
